减少操作 is all about ensuring safety (not work stoppage), as such on any day when a campus is closed because of a curtailed event the following guidance applies:
- Both hourly and salaried staff should not report to work at campus locations (other than ‘Essential 工作人员’ – you should know who you are, 如果没有，问你的主管)
- For those who currently work remotely, continue your remote work through the curtailment
- 如果你是 按小时支付 and can’t complete a full day of work due to storm related issues (child care, storm damage, etc.) as required, please log the hours you do work - and for status hourly employees, submit a 减少操作 time off request in Kronos for the remainder of that particular daily schedule (see 克洛诺斯工作援助 如果需要). Only status employees are eligible for curtailed operations pay.
- In cases of internet/power outage at your home, please perform what work you can offline.
- Before the predicted storm or event occurs, it’s very helpful if you work with your supervisor to plan in advance by collecting items like readings, 审核材料, 特殊项目任务, other work documents that can be done without the use of electronic devices etc.
- If you don’t have ‘off line work’ (or limited) or lack basic tools to work remotely and curtailed operations is declared, status employees will be paid via curtailed operations. 一定要提交你的Curtailed操作 time off request in Kronos before the close of the pay period.
- If there was a pre-scheduled personal day off, the employee would keep that day as personal time.

How to record Curtailment in your Kronos/UKG Timecard
The decision to curtail is made when the campus is, 或者预计会是, 没有准备停车, 行人交通, and local road conditions preclude the continuation of bus service and/or there are utility and power outages that impact our working environment.
Our goal is to announce curtailment prior to the day of the weather event. 一旦宣布缩减操作, the campus will shift to non- face to face instruction wherever possible. 注意: The university’s winter parking ban (WPB) commences January 3rd and concludes on April 1st, although start/end dates may be adjusted by official announcement if weather predictions require. While in effect, the WPB is in force 12:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m., every night regardless of weather conditions. Make yourself familiar with what lots are open, closed, and when.
