教师 and 工作人员 of Color Affinity Group

The 教师 and 工作人员 of Color (FSOC) affinity group was formed in 2018 by UNH faculty and staff interested in informal opportunities for community building, 网络, 支持, and engagement in various activities that promote growth, 连接, 和归属感. The goals of FSOC are to cultivate a 支持 community, promote personal and professional development, build awareness around diversity, 股本, 和包容 concerns for employees of color with hopes of fostering understanding and allyship, celebrate accomplishments and contributions of 成员, and provide resources and 支持.

New Hampshire is a small New England state with a small population of Black, 土著, and other people of color (BIPOC). Recognizing the limited population of minoritized people in the state, the University of New Hampshire’s 教师 and Staff of Color (FSOC) affinity group strives to bring together UNH faculty and staff of color in the academic community to be an influential, 支持, and positive force within the institution, and to promote and preserve diversity, 股本, 和包容. FSOC is a 支持 and inclusive group dedicated to amplifying and recognizing the accomplishments of faculty and staff of color; with the aim of also cultivating a sense of 连接 和归属感.

  1. Cultivate a Supportive 社区: FSOC seeks to create welcoming spaces where faculty and staff of color can come together to share experiences, 挑战, 和成功. Through regular meetings, events, and workshop offerings, we aim to build a strong network of 支持, understanding, allyship, and community among our 成员.
  2. Promote Personal and Professional Development: We strive to enhance the personal and professional growth of our 成员 through 网络, 研讨会, 培训课程, and 指导 opportunities.

  1. 构建意识: FSOC aims to raise awareness of the 挑战 faced by faculty and staff of color within UNH and the broader community. We strive to foster understanding, 宣传, and allyship among colleagues and within the institution.
  2. Celebrate 多样性 and Success: FSOC highlights the accomplishments and contributions of faculty and staff of color, celebrating their achievements at UNH. 我们的目标 foster an environment that acknowledges and appreciates the unique perspectives and talents that diversity brings to the community.
  3. Provide 资源 and Support: FSOC serves as a resource hub for faculty and staff of color, 提供指导, 指导, and assistance as needed. We connect 成员 with available resources, both within UNH and externally, to help with transitions, 挑战, and other needs that may arise.
